Conference Project Guidelines
Due Dates
- Seniors: Monday, May 1, 2023
- Non-seniors: Wednesday, May 10, 2023
Your project writeup in PDF format, and all code and
supporting files necessary to run your program, should be submitted
through the Homework
Upload Site.
However, if you have very large data files (several megabytes or larger)
that you feel are necessary to include, you may need to use an alternative
method such as making the files available through Google Drive and including
a download link to the files in your writeup or code.
Your project writeup should be 3-5 pages in length and should be
structured roughly as follows:
Project Title
Your Name
Background and Goals
- What was the overall motivation for your project?
- What were the specific goals you hoped to achieve?
- What exactly was your system supposed to do?
- Provide any other necessary background information here.
Methodology
- What type of approach did you use? (e.g. neural networks, genetic algorithms, reinforcement learning, symbolic AI, etc.)
- Describe the overall organization of your program, and its inputs and outputs.
- Was learning involved? If so, how did you train your system?
Results and Conclusions
- What experiments did you try?
- How did you evaluate the system's performance? Include graphs, tables, or
diagrams as appropriate.
- What worked?
- What didn't? Describe the difficulties you ran into.
- What conclusions did you draw?
- What would the next step be if you were to continue the project in the future?
How to Run It
- Include a brief description of all files needed to run your program or demo.
- Include clear and complete instructions on how to run your program or demo.
